He previously served as Dean at B.J. Medical College, Ahmedabad, and Nootan Medical College & Research Centre, Visnagar. He is renowned for his pioneering work in paediatric spinal anaesthesia in Gujarat and for initiating the Postgraduate course in Emergency Medicine at B.J. Medical College. His research includes over 20 papers in prestigious journals, focusing on topics like paediatric spinal analgesia. He has chaired national conference sessions, delivered guest lectures, and earned accolades for his significant contributions to anaesthesiology and medical education.

Dr. Heena Chhanwal (M.D. Anaesthesiology, PGDHM), currently serves as Medical Superintendent and Professor Anaesthesiology at GCS Medical College Hospital and Research Centre, Ahmedabad. With roles in ISA leadership and as an AHA-certified instructor for over a decade. She’s been on the editorial board of Indian Journal of Anaesthesia, Wolter Kluwer reviewer, and Chief Editor of “Essentials of COVID-19 for Anaesthesiologists.” She has over 25 years of experience in anaesthesiology and has more than 28 original research papers in prestigious journals.
