Authors

T.V. Devarajan Bsc MD FRCP DSc (Hons) FICP FACM FCCP (US) is an Emeritus professor of Medicine at the Aarupadai Veedu Medical College, Puducherry. He served as a teacher in Medicine under the guidance of “Padmashri” Professor K V Thiruvengadam for 28 years. Dr Devarajan has been a senior consultant and Physician at the Apollo Hospitals, Chennai, since 1986. He has 28 publications to his credits. He is the author of several books titled “Medicine in Nutshell”, “Textbook of Medicine” (1st and 2nd editions), “Clinical Approach to Poisoning and Drug Overdose”, “5000 MCQS in General Medicine (Parts I, II and III)”  and short case summaries and “A to Z: 1000 Pearls in Internel Medicine”. He has also authored a book for the patients titled “Medical Advice for Healthy Life”, which has been translated to many languages. He has served as a medicine examiner for undergraduate and postgraduate examinations in a few universities.

He is the recipient of the Dr. BC Roy National Award as an eminent medical teacher and the recipient of “Padmashri” for medicine, both from the Hon’ble President of India. He has obtainted his FRCP from the University of Glasglow,UK; DSc(Hons) from The Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R. Medical University;and FICP from the Indian Medical Association(IMA), Association of Physicians of India(APICON), and the Indian College of Physicians. He was appointed as a member of the jury by the British Medical Journal to select doctors who can be nominated for the Oscar Award in Medicine.

L Vijayasundaram MD is currently working as a Senior Professor of Medicine and Senior Consultant Physician,Sri Lakshmi Narayana Institute of Medical Science and Medical Collage,Puducherry. He completed his postgraduate degree from the prestigious Madras Medical Collage under the dynamic guidance of the internationally reputed physician Professor K V Thiruvengadam. He was awarded the Dr BC Roy National Award  as an eminent medical teacher. He had been serving as a teacher in the faculty of medicine in various Tamil Nadu government medical collages and has got a vast experience of taeching fot about 30 years. He has also published many papers. He has been serving as a University Examiner for undergraduate and postgraduate examinations in various universities since 1994. He has also served as a senate Member and as a Member of Board of Studies for MBBS course in the Tamil Nadu Dr M G R Medical University for 6 years.
